Healthy Food for Families - Snack Edition

Learning healthy, yummy recipes that the whole family can enjoy. This class will teach you easy snacks you can make with your kids and a few recipes they can make on their own!

Recipes Include:
Very Berry Vegan Gel
Fruit Leather
Zucchini Banana Muffins
Oatmeal Rasin Cookies (with veggies)

The class will be hands on. With 8 people it will be broken down into two teams of four. Each team will work together to complete each recipe. Skills learned will be small knife skills, mixing, cooking methods, grating, etc. Any food left over will be taken home by participants along with a recipe packet to make again.

About the teacher: Colby Durden

Chef Colby has a passion for cooking and a love for kids. She went to the Art Institute of Tennessee - Nashville, and received a certification in Culinary Arts. After teaching cooking classes at the Viking Cooking School in Franklin for almost 3 years, she has started teaching on her own. She is currently finishing up her certification to be a Holistic Nutrition Specialist. Now her focus is teaching kids how to cook and teaching families how to incorporate healthy food into their daily lives.

Class Requirements

Kids 6+ and accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Parents can come alone, or bring one child (included with the purchase of a ticket.)
