Halloween doesn't have to break the bank! You can learn to make any costume you want--historical, fantasy, national, or other costumes--even if you've never made a costume before. All you need is an imagination, a few tools, and a little guidance, and you'll be able to create a costume that will be the envy of all your friends!
Whether you want to make a costume for yourself, your child, or perhaps you want a fun couple or pet costume, you'll learn the tricks of the trade to making quick, practical outfits, the best sources for materials, and how to craft props and accessories to complete your look.
Since every costume idea is unique, each participant will receive personalized instruction on how to create his/her costume. In the first session, we'll collaborate on ideas to make your costume OUTSTANDING and we'll put together a shopping list so you'll know just what you need to find or purchase. In the second session, we'll assemble the pieces into a whole, so that when you leave you'll have a costume that will make you proud!

About the teacher: Rowena Aldridge
Rowena Aldridge is a former professional ballerina who now spends her days homeschooling and homemaking. She is a certified educator in a number of old-school domestic skills, including food preservation (University of Georgia Extension), small space gardening (Square Foot Gardening Foundation), and patternmaking for sewing (Wild Ginger Software, Inc). She is the co-author of "Digital Flat Pattern", the only college-level textbook on digital pattern drafting for the fashion industry. But her real passion is empowering others to go out and conquer the world on their own.

Class Requirements
Previous crafting or sewing experience is helpful but not required. Bring several costume ideas with you so Rowena can advise you on the best way to get the look you want.
