The business model canvas is a chart. A template. A tool to collect descriptions of the building blocks of your business. it can be printed out on a large surface so groups of people can collaborate, jointly discussing and identifying important elements of the specific model.

It encourages entrepreneurs to list assumptions using sticky notes or whiteboard markers, and to group those assumptions by general category, so assumptions can be replaced and revised easily as they’re validated and invalidated.

The Business Model Canvas was released by strategyzer.com under a Creative Commons license, so it’s open for anybody to adjust and augment.
